Svidok.org is a social online platform for preserving the memories of Ukrainians in the form of a war diary. It is a cloud where people anonymously describe their experiences during the war and post facts of war crimes, including the destruction of cities, towns, and villages, torture and inhuman treatment; looting; destruction of cultural sites; and setting of settlements on occupied territories. People also preserve the facts of crimes against the environment, including the cruelty and killing of animals, the threat of their extinction due to the loss of habitat, and the pollution of soil and water. In addition, people also keep their memories of evacuation, volunteering, and reflections on Russia’s war in Ukraine.
The platform stores people’s testimonies about the Russo-Ukrainian war that began in 2014. Most of the stories are from the period of the full-scale invasion, but there are also memories from the previous years of the ATO (Anti-Terrorist Operation) and JFO (Joint Forces Operation) in Donbas and from the temporarily occupied Crimea.
Geographically, the memories are from all over Ukraine.
