At the end of the third year of the terrible war in Kherson, dozens of different spaces in shelters are blooming brightly – they are active in the underground, in the dungeons, where a bright, colourful, eventful life is boiling – cultural, artistic, social, public, intellectual, emotional, creative. This is our newest underground. The underground as a socio-cultural phenomenon in Kherson in the 20s of the twenty-first century is changing its conceptual meaning. It became a kind of realisation of a metaphor. Our protest against the war, against the barbaric bombing of the city, along with the drone safari on people trying to take our lives, sharpened to the most ingenious resistance of human material – we turned out to be unbreakable and moved our social and cultural life underground, to the underground, in the literal sense of the word.
