Significant material historical and cultural objects of Donetsk Oblast before the Russian invasion of Ukraine—monuments, museums, architectural structures—were identified. The losses of historical and cultural sites as a result of the Russian military aggression between January 2015 and March 2024 were recorded. Among them is the building of the drama theater, Trehubov’s estate, the Synagogue, the Spartak Hotel in Mariupol; St. Makarii Church in Toretsk; Peter Dick’s mill in the village of New York; Donetsk, Mariupol, Kostiantynivka, and Lyman local history museums; bas-relief of Vasyl Stus in Donetsk, mosaic panels and a memorial to the Holodomor victims in Mariupol, a monument to Metropolitan Ignatius in Mariupol, a monument to Petro Sahaidachny in Mangush, and others. The systematization of the information received in the form of a database of destroyed objects of historical and cultural heritage of the Donetsk Oblast has begun.
