Documenting the Russian Army War Crimes Against Ukrainian Culture.

Documenting the Russian Army War Crimes Against Ukrainian Culture.

One of the areas of work of HeMo is the documentation of war crimes of the Russian army against the cultural heritage of Ukraine, which is carried out from open sources and on the spot. The main focus of the work is to document the destruction of cultural monuments, theft and displacement of museum collections and other cases of cultural genocide against Ukraine. The geography of the work covers the entire territory of Ukraine. The professionalism, authenticity and expertise of the materials received are ensured by monument conservationists, art historians and restoration architects who cooperate with HeMo. The Smithsonian website regularly publishes brief reports based on the documentation of the initiative’s specialists, which further confirms the authenticity of the materials in the HeMo database.
