Diaries and Dreams of the War

Contact:

This initiative is being implemented by the Center for Urban History in cooperation with the UCU Department of Cultural Studies and Psychology and the Department of Philosophy at Lviv National University. We invited young people to record what they see, hear, and experience. Initially, 50 participants volunteered for the group, and the participants were accompanied by a cultural studies expert, a professional psychologist, and a philosophy teacher (and a specialist in secular meditation). This project was conducted at the intersection of psychology, anthropology, history, philosophy, and art, and has academic and human value. The archive material consists of a variety of narrative and non-narrative works, such as war diaries recorded in digital and paper formats, photographs, drawings, short videos, as well as voice and music recordings. This project captures, disseminates, and analyses the Ukrainian experience of the 2022 war. We envisage that individual feelings, as well as collective experiences, will become an archive, a source for researchers and historians in the future.
