With the outbreak of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, the lives of millions of people were threatened, and thousands of civilians were injured as a result of missile attacks, bombings, and artillery shelling of cities and villages in our country. Many of them fled their homes in search of a safer place to live and to recover their physical and emotional condition. In this situation, rear Lviv has become not only a key transit hub but also a kind of rehabilitation center. Every day, seriously ill, mobility impaired and severely wounded people evacuated from the war zone, children and adults with disabilities have been coming to Lviv and continue to do so. At the same time, specialized medical institutions of the city continuously assist in the treatment and rehabilitation of the defenders of Ukraine. The project involves conducting oral history interviews with representatives of municipal services, public and charitable organizations, and volunteers who are somehow involved in the rehabilitation of various categories of the population, their support, and socialization.
