The project was launched on February 24, 2022, with the aim of documenting the impact of dramatic events on the lives of ordinary people and ensuring the personalization of the history of the current war. The process of collecting material is still ongoing, as the project focuses on the unfinished past, whose participants and eyewitnesses are contemporaries. Its main feature is a set of storylines. The main one is the author’s reflection on the extreme wartime everyday life, both on the scale of the whole of Ukraine and specifically of Kamianske, and the city museum in particular. It is combined with the life stories of volunteers, soldiers, artists, cultural activists, museum partners, etc. from different regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Dnipro, Donetsk, and Luhansk oblasts. The collected interviews are devoted to the extreme experience of the beginning and continuation of the war, occupation, evacuation, migration abroad, etc.
A part of the diary and narratives were included in the publication “Ethnographic Image of Modern Ukraine: Oral History” prepared for publication by the Rylsky Institute of Art Studies, Folklore and Ethnology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
