My collection contains over a hundred interviews with women who left Ukraine after 24 February 2022 because of the war. The recordings were made in Poland, France, and Finland between April 2022 and December 2023. In their stories, my interlocutors describe their (un)readiness for the war, identify the reasons why they left Ukraine, and talk about their journey abroad. The narratives of the former residents of Mariupol differ from the main part, as they describe how they survived the difficult months of spring 2022 under bombardment.
