The War Childhood Museum is the only museum in the world that collects and documents the testimonies of those whose childhoods were or continue to be affected by war. Researchers at the War Childhood Museum in Ukraine record testimonies of children, adolescents, and young adults about everyday life during the war: living conditions, risks, internal displacement, education, games, recreation, and health. The archive covers the experiences of children from 2014 to the present day throughout Ukraine (including the temporarily occupied territories) and abroad. The museum also records the stories of people whose childhood was affected by the Second World War. We collect personal belongings: from favorite books to household items preserved by people who live through the war. Currently, our archive includes over 400 oral history interviews, and our collection includes over 500 objects. Our goal is to make visible the experiences of children, teenagers, and adults whose childhoods were affected by the war, and to give them the space to tell their stories.
