  • Partnerships, cooperation: The project was implemented with the support of the Center for Governance and Culture in Europe at the University of St. Gallen. In 2024-2025, the Archive will participate in the project "War Sensing" СRC 1187 "Media of Cooperation" (University of Siegen, the German Research Foundation); as well as “Documenting Russia's war against Ukraine: The challenges of living archives for historical knowledge production” funded by the Leibniz Collaborative Excellence funding programme.

It is an open data archive from the Telegram platform. The topics of archival materials range widely: volunteer groups coordinating humanitarian aid, evacuation chats, housing search initiatives, missing persons reports, air raid alerts, city channels and discussions on local issues in combat zones and occupied territories, personal diaries, blogs, artistic expressions, humor, memes, expert analyses, documentation of military operations and destruction, political communities, messages from local and central authorities, the armed forces, the media, as well as Russian government propaganda and pro-Russian channels and chats. Most of the archived messages were published between February 24, 2022 and June 12, 2023. The archived data geographically relates mainly to the territory of Ukraine within the state borders. Additional focuses were countries that hosted Ukrainian refugees, as well as Russian and Belarusian regions bordering Ukraine. We have archived 2711 channels and chats. Most archived messages were published between February 24, 2022, and June 12, 2023. Geographically, the archived channels and chats primarily focus on the territory of Ukraine within its state borders. Additionally, we have included materials from countries hosting Ukrainian refugees, as well as regions in Russia and Belarus bordering Ukraine. We have archived 2,711 channels and chats.
